MXTV exists to Re-Present God’s Word to the World and is now covering the entire footprint of the globe, reaching over 200 countries. After celebrating 10 years of broadcasting and producing over 100 shows, the uninhibited presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in today’s language is and always will be the focus of MXTV.

On March 8, 1997 the non-profit ministry of Mission X introduced Mission X Television (MXTV), a 30 min. commercial free broadcast, by airing its first program. This evangelistic, music based broadcast began with a potential audience of 4.5 million in the Houston area. At that time MXTV received an average of 20 calls per show from young people responding to Tim’s live invitation to receive Christ as their Savior. After only one year of production MXTV received the Dove Award given by the Gospel Music Association for being “The Best Local Broadcast in the Nation.”

MXTV’s potential audience has now grown to 3.4 billion worldwide. With this increased reach the average salvations (based on comparison) is 15,111 people per week – per show.

The evangelism efforts of MXTV work because the Gospel is spoken in a language and set in a cultural context that today’s youth recognize as their own. Embracing the fact that those older than 18 have only a 6% probability of accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior, it is our driving motivation to penetrate youth culture ‘’where they are’’ before it is too late.

Data represents that churches are losing ground in terms of influence on young adults. We may need to consider new approaches to making ancient truths more vivid and comprehensible in a technology-drenched, relativistic global community. (Barna, 2001)

Echoed in the words of Billy Graham:
"This generation of young people has a different tone than we have seen before. And we
feel like we have to interpret the Gospel of Christ in their language... so we're going to
have to interpret to each other.”

MXTV is currently being broadcast on DayStar television network. DayStar “is the second largest Christian broadcaster in the world”. MXTV airs every Saturday at 12 midnight CST and is the only pro-bono programmer on the DayStar network, an airtime gift that saves the ministry $9524.00 per month. MXTV also airs weekly at various time slots on Sky Angel, Family Net, and TBNs Youth Channel ‘JCTV’. Through these combined efforts MXTV airs in every major U.S. city and in more than 200 countries.

Because of the enormity of this global platform, we have an immeasurable responsibility to provide a clear presentation of the Gospel with excellence.

As media missionaries we understand the top four sources of influence that establish and dictate people’s values, resource allocation, moral behaviors, and relational patterns are: pop music, TV, movies, and the Internet. The church doesn’t even make the top 10 (Barna 2002). In a new day as this, the cultural context contains unique trends and facts that cause us to face a new reality–that our culture is now a missionary frontier.

After that whole generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation grew up, who knew neither the Lord nor what He had done...’’ Judges 2:11
God has uniquely positioned us to re-present His word to this mediadriven, Internet generation in its own language. As we retell God's Grand Story through Television and the Internet, it is our desired result that this generation will know the Lord and hear what He has done.

In the following pages, we have outlined where we have been and where we hope to go in the next three years, as we increase our reach and have an even greater impact for Christ. We have laid out the specifics of how we plan to do this, but in order for this plan to succeed to it’s fullest extent, MXTV needs greater funding and production assistance. We are meeting with individuals, churches, and mission organizations looking for those willing to partner with us in reaching this unique generation poised for redemption.

Our target audience is the unsaved between the ages of 12-24. Our challenge is that though our reach is great, less than 1% of our financial support comes from our viewers. Our ‘flock’ is mostly at-risk youth, as this is the group the ministry has always reached. Unfortunately, this group is rarely in a position to help the ministry financially. Christ came to seek and save the lost and we as the body of Christ naturally identify with His cause. We clearly need the body of Christ to help us fulfill this mission.

As you pray and read further, please know that MXTV is accountable to a board of directors. Your contribution to MXTV will be used in an effective, culturally relevant, and God-fearing manner. We have seen God use this ministry to write countless young people into the life-changing story of Jesus Christ. Thank you for considering partnering with us in this next chapter of God's provision.
